Sweet and Spicy Pork Chops – This 20-minute recipe features tender chops coated in a delicious spicy-sweet glaze that’s easy to make with a handful of simple ingredients like honey, hot sauce, and garlic.

Why We Love This Pork Chop Recipe
If you love garlic, and you love the combination of sweet and spicy flavors – well, you probably feel right at home on the site. And you are seriously going to go crazy over these Spicy Honey Garlic Pork Chops! This recipe has intensity, contrast, and juicy pork fat… All my favorite things.
It’s fabulously easy to make on the stovetop in only about 15-20 minutes, from start to finish. (You can even make these chops on the grill just as quickly, if you prefer.) Plus, the ingredients list is short with only 6 kitchen staples.
(Speaking of spicy and sweet goodness: Have you tried our Sweet and Spicy Chicken Lollipop or Baked Chicken Drumstick recipes yet? Do it!)

6 Ingredients You Need
- Pork chops – thick-cut, boneless pork chops or bone-in pork chops
- Honey – raw and pourable is best
- Cholula hot sauce – or other preferred similar hot sauce
- Garlic – minced
- Salt and pepper – to taste

How to Make Honey Garlic Pork Chops
Pat the pork chops dry on both sides and generously sprinkle with salt and pepper. Set a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
Set out a small bowl, or measuring picture. Combine the honey, Cholula hot sauce, and minced garlic. Mix the honey garlic sauce well.

Once the skillet is hot, place the pork chops in the skillet. Sear the pork chops for 3 minutes per side.

Then flip the pork chops again and pour the glaze over the top. Lower the skillet to medium heat, and continue to cook for 1 to 2 additional minutes per side, until the pork chops are cooked through and the glaze is nice and thick.

Alternative Grilling Method
I personally like the pan-seared method because the minced garlic has longer to cook in the pan, getting nice and soft and sweet. However, grilling is a terrific option that is easy and still offers all of the delicious sweet and spicy flavors you want!
If grilling, preheat the grill to medium heat, 350-400 degrees F. Grill the pork chops for 2 minutes per side. Then brush glaze over the pork chops and continue cooking for an additional 1 minute per side, brushing again, after you flip the pork chops.

Serving Suggestions
These fork-tender and super sticky pork chops pair well with a nearly endless number of side dishes! Serve with your fave carbs and starches like fluffy rice, mashed potatoes, roasted potatoes, or pasta.
For a low-carb dinner you can serve with lighter cauliflower rice or mashed cauliflower, or your choice of gluten-free pasta alternative.
And oh, the veggies! Steamed, sauteed, roasted, air fried… however you like your vegetables cooked, they’ll probably go great with this meaty main dish. A few of our popular crowd-pleasers include roasted or steamed broccoli, air fryer asparagus or green beans, and sauteed mushrooms.

Frequently Asked Questions
The key to moist chops is to first and foremost quickly sear the outside. Searing the outside of the pork chops locks in the juices as they continue to cook. Then be sure to NOT overcook them.
I would say Cholula is on the milder side of hot sauces… It does have a good bit of heat but the emphasis is definitely on the tangy, peppery flavors without a lot of spiciness.
Because this garlic honey pork chops recipe includes cooking the meat in a sticky glaze, it is definitely best to cook them on the stovetop. This sear-and-simmer method gets a nice crust on the outside then lower the heat to completely cook the pork without drying out.
Leftover pork chops will keep well for up to 3-4 days in an airtight container in the refrigerator. This recipe is great to meal prep for weekly lunches!
