Ingredients You Need
- Milk – dairy milk, soy milk, cashew milk… whatever you want!
- Frozen strawberries – frozen is best to have a cold smoothie
- Strawberry jam – for added strawberry goodness
How to Make a Strawberry Smoothie
To make this Strawberry Smoothie, simply place the frozen strawberries, strawberry jam and milk in the blender. Place the lid on top, and blend until smooth!
Why Should I Add Strawberry Jam?
The strawberry jam is the secret weapon in this simple strawberry smoothie recipe. It not only sweetens the smoothie but intensifies the strawberry-ness, without any fake flavoring syrups of extracts. You can use sugar-free jam or “spreadable fruit” to decrease sugar levels!
Tips & Tricks
- Frozen strawberries are preferred to fresh strawberries because they thicken and chill the smoothie without any added ice to water it down. Plus frozen berries allow you to make smoothies any time of year.
- The cow’s milk can be interchanged with kefir or any sort of non-dairy milk that you like.
- Add spinach for more nutrition! Make a strawberry spinach smoothie by adding a handful of spinach. It will turn the color green, but will still taste like strawberries!
- Make a strawberry banana smoothie by adding a fresh banana to the mix.
- Use ANY sort of frozen fruit and jam to make this “best” smoothie recipe your flavor of choice… Raspberry, blackberry, mango, and the sky is the limit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use yogurt instead of milk, and if so, how much?
You can! Add 1 cup of yogurt (or greek yogurt) and 1/2 cup of water to thin it out. You can even use strawberry yogurt to add even more berry flavor!
What other flavor variations can I add?
Extra ingredients you could add to this smoothie are: banana, almond milk or coconut milk, orange juice, chocolate or cocoa powder, almond butter, other nut butter variations, handfuls of spinach or kale, chia seeds, or protein powder.
Can I store this in the freezer?
You can keep the smoothies in the freezer for just a few hours, but this is not a good recipe to make ahead and freeze. It takes quite a while for them to thaw, so they are not as convenient as a quick breakfast or snack once they are frozen hard.

We have smoothies daily. Usually with frozen organic blueberries, bananas or blackberries. Also simple and easy.
Love the pictures with the straws. Very pretty.
The only kind of smoothie I ever make is the Mystery Smoothie. Any fruit that’s going to go bad before I get around to eating it goes into the freezer. Then it comes out in random order. Usually use yogurt instead of milk or kefir, plus just a spash of fruit juice just to keep the blender moving.
Wonder why “smoothie” stuck instead of “fruit shake”?
love the jam in it, would’ve never thought to add it! thanks for the tip! I LOVE those straws by the way!
