Chicken Detox Soup
Chicken Detox Soup is a fast, tasty meal filled with vitamins and nutrients. This cleansing soup is great to make when you need a do-over in your eating plan.

Why We Love This Chicken Detox Soup Recipe
Looking for a great Detox Soup Recipe? Especially after the holidays, I like to take some time to eat healthy and include some nourishing, detoxing soups like this Chicken Detox Soup!
From my personal experience, cleanses usually involve expensive herbal supplement kits from the health food store, or a whole lot of juicing.
However, this cleanse is different. It’s a Chicken Detox Soup Cleanse made from a nourishing homemade soup with fresh chicken, loads of veggies, and ginger, to boost your metabolism and immune system, as well as remove toxins to help your body work as it should. Eat this soup for a few days and you will be feeling good as new! It is gluten-free, dairy-free, and paleo to boot!
With protein, vegetables, vitamins, and minerals, it provides more nutrients than most of the world’s population receives on any given day. So don’t be afraid to give it a try!

Ingredients You Need
- Chicken Breast – chicken breast is best since it is high in protein and low in fat. You can use chicken thighs, but this will add fat to the chicken soup.
- Chicken Broth – or chicken stock
- Vegetables – onion, broccoli, carrots, celery and peas
- Fresh Parsley – for a fresh, herby flavor
- Fresh Ginger – adds flavor and antioxidants
- Garlic – to make the soup aromatic
- Olive Oil – to sauté the veggies, you can also use avocado oil if preferred!
- Apple Cider Vinegar – adds a slight tangy flavor
- Crushed Red Pepper – for just a hint of spice
- Turmeric – great for cleanses
- Salt & Pepper – to taste
Pro Tip: If you see any vegetable in there that you don’t like, switch it out for something you do like. Other great options are spinach, kale, or additional fresh herbs! For ease, you can use shredded rotisserie chicken instead!

How to Make Detox Soup
Set a large sauce pot over medium heat. Add the olive oil, chopped onions, celery, ginger, and garlic. Sauté for 5-6 minutes to soften. Then add the raw chicken breasts, broth, carrots, apple cider vinegar, crushed red pepper, turmeric, and 1 teaspoon sea salt.
Bring to a boil, lower the heat, and simmer for 20+ minutes, until the chicken breasts are cooked through. Then remove the chicken with tongs and set them on a cutting board to cool.
Add broccoli, peas, and parsley to the pot. Continue to simmer to soften the broccoli. Meanwhile, shred the chicken breast with two forks, and stir it back into the soup. Once the broccoli is tender, taste, then salt and pepper as needed. Serve warm!
Pro Tip: If you like a little extra tangy flavor, serve your chicken detox soup with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.

Made a large batch, kept in jars in frig. Taste great each day. Will make more to help continue my Food plan. Plain on rotating other soups of the same. This soup has inspire me to eat more nutritious soups!
used homemade broth and used fresh hot pepper’s. Just fantastic. Great flavors with plenty of STUFF (normally I don’t like soup). Looks pretty in Jar’s.
I just made this soup following this recipe almost exactly. I forgot to get apple cider vinegar but it was still delicious without it. Full of flavour from all of the vegetables, ginger, garlic and turmeric. I also added bean sprouts and lentils. Very Filling and I’m planning to have it for the next few days.
PROS: Easy to make, may be one of the most delicous and healthy soups I have ever had. CONS: One big con: Only good for one day. The next day the soup did not taste good and a lot of ingredients went in the garbage. I made the recipe as it was written as I planned to eat it for a few days. Actually, even several hours after making it, I decided to have another bowl as it was so magnificent for the first bowl; already it was loosing its flavor. SUGGEST make it for a fairly large group so it is finished in one meal.
Emm this Yummi taste i like it
,
SO GOOD! I make this all year round especially in the summer for a light nourishing meal. I make my own chicken broth with leftover roasted chicken and then make this soup. UGHMAZZING!
Apparently this is an amazingly delicious recipe …
Thank you very much , for the recipe!
Love this recipe. I make this weekly and eat it for lunch & dinner during the week. It has definitely help with my weight. I use my instant pot instead of stove top method. I add more seasonings than what is listed as well as lemongrass. I omit the peas, but also add kale, collard greens, mustard greens anything green. I layer them all in my instant pot. Pressure cook for 15 minutes & it comes out perfect.
Wow this is fantastic! I used homemade broth, added mushrooms and swiss chard, omitted the celery. Yum yum yum. No strong vinager taste if anyone is worried about that. Looks beautiful, healthy
I just made my second batch……my husband absolutely loves it! It’s so eau and fast…..i cubed the chicken instead of leaving it whole and shredding it after….next time we go to it produce store, we are going to try different veggies.
Thanks for sharing! Does it freeze well?
