How to Make Hot Pizza Dip in the Oven

  1. Preheat the oven and spray a round 8-inch baking dish (or 9-inch pie pan) with nonstick cooking spray. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with 1 cup shredded cheese, and spices.
  2. Spread the cream cheese mixture in an even layer over the bottom of the baking dish. Then spread the pizza sauce over the cheese mixture, and sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese over the pizza sauce to cover it. Sprinkle the toppings evenly over the surface of the dip.
  3. Place the dish in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and is bubbly around the edges.

How to Make This Recipe in the Crockpot

Our easy Supreme Pizza Dip recipe can also be made in the slow cooker, so you can keep it warm all through your party!

Simply layer the ingredients into the bottom of a standard round slow cooker, or make a double-batch for a large oval slow cooker. Then cover the crock pot with a paper towel to catch the moisture, and cover it with the lid.

Slow cook for 1-2 hours on high, or 2-3 hours on low, until the layers are hot and the cheese has melted.

What to Serve with Supreme Pizza Dip

You can serve this dip with cut vegetables like carrots, celery sticks, thick slices of bell pepper, or other fresh veggies you like.

Bring some carbs to the party and crunchy tortilla, pita chips, or crackers. Or serve alongside soft pieces of pita or mini naan, or thick and chewy breadsticks for the full pizza feel!

You can even offer keto and gluten-free crackers on the table to meet the needs of all your party guests.

Recipe Variations

Top your Supreme Pizza Dip anyway you choose! Here are a few ideas for ingredients you can swap and add to get you going:

  • Meat – Swap Italian sausage with leaner chicken sausage, use turkey pepperoni – or include chopped cooked bacon, ham, or pieces of Canadian bacon.
  • Veggies – Try adding mushroom slices, slices of green bell pepper, artichoke hearts, small broccoli florets, or other hearty vegetables.
  • Spicy – Bring some heat to the party and add fresh or pickled jalapeno slices, banana peppers, and/or sprinkle on crushed red pepper flakes.
  • Herbs – After baking, finish the dip with a sprinkling of fresh chopped basil or oregano.
  • Vegetarian – Simply leave off all of the meat and load up on extra veggies for a vegetarian Supreme Pizza Dip!
  • Vegan – Along with skipping meat, try using your preferred plant-based nondairy alternatives for the cream cheese and shredded Italian cheese blend.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this Supreme Pizza Dip recipe gluten-free?

Yes, it is gluten-free!

In fact, if you use “clean” sausage this game day party snack recipe is gluten-free, keto, and low carb.

How long does this dip last in the fridge?

Cool the dip completely before transferring to an airtight container. It will keep well in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days

Can I freeze pizza dip?

You technically can freeze it for up to 2 months – but no, I personally don’t recommend trying to do so. The textures will change a bit when frozen, thawed, and reheated… Although it will still taste good, the dip won’t have the same cheesy, gooey scoop-ability.
