Sommer’s Recipe Notes
Pork tends to have a rather mild taste, which makes it ideal for taking on the big flavors of seasonings and marinades, when done just right. And what I’m sharing with you here is a great spice blend for adding lots of pep to your pork, but without overwhelming the meat.
Why You’ll Love This Seasoning Rub Recipe
- Incredible Flavor – Although there are many herbs and spices you can sprinkle on pork chops to make them delicious, you’ll agree that this simple blend of spices packs a delicious punch!
- To Brine, or Not to Brine – You do not need to brine pork chops when you use the seasoning; however, if you do both… Mind. Blown. I’ll tell you how it’s done in the full recipe card below.
- So Very Versatile – Sprinkle this seasoning on any type of pork chop, even brined pork chops. Or use it on pork tenderloin and pork roast as well!

What to Do With Pork Rub Seasoning
So how should you cook your pork chops? There are so many amazing ways to cook both bone-in and boneless chops! You can bake them in the oven, grill them, smoke them, sear them, sous vide them, slow cook them, or cook them in an Instant Pot.
Pro Tip – As a general rule of thumb, if grilling, searing, or baking, set the temperature to 400°F and cook for 8 to 10 minutes for pork chops that are around 1 inch thick.
This dry rub is also great for cooking other pieces of pork as well! Use it on pork tenderloins, pork roasts, or almost any cut of meat you prefer.
