- Garlic – Add fresh or roasted garlic into the mixture for an incredible, earthy, and savory flavor.
- Spices – Sprinkle on spicy cayenne pepper or crushed red pepper flakes. Or add smoky flavors with ground cumin and/or smoked paprika. You can even add Italian seasoning to make this a more classic Mediterranean-style feta dip!
- Fresh herbs – You can mix fresh herbs like chopped parsley (like we used), basil, rosemary, thyme, chives, or cilantro right into the dip. Or use them as a topping right before serving for some freshness.
- Nuts – Add a nice crunch with a sprinkle of toasted pine nuts, chopped pistachios, walnuts or pecans.
- Other goodies – Here we’ve added chopped sun-dried tomatoes for a delicious sour taste that complements the salty cheese. You can also drizzle on some high-quality extra virgin olive oil, or honey for sweet flavor, OR even hot honey for a sweet and spicy swicy whipped feta dip!

How to Make Whipped Feta
Tip for Success – Sometimes feta cheese is packed in liquid to maintain its soft and crumbly texture. It’s important that the feta is dried out well before puréeing so that the whipped feta has a nice, thick texture. You can buy 8 ounces of crumbled feta cheese to use for this recipe, or a block of feta cheese. If you use a block, allow it to air dry before use.

Storage Notes
- Storing Leftovers – Keep the dip in a covered airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 4-5 days.
- Freezing – Nope, do not try freezing feta dip.
Serving Suggestions
This lusciously creamy dip is perfect to serve with crunchy dippers… Enjoy it with potato chips or pita chips, crackers, crostini (toasted sliced baguette), and cut fresh veggies like carrots, celery, cucumbers and bell peppers.
But that’s not all! The richness and smooth consistency, and the fact that it’s made with sour cream, make the dip a great substitute for plain ‘ol sour cream. Just imagine gloriously silky whipped feta on top of tacos, baked potatoes, savory main dish proteins, and roasted vegetable dishes, or on top of a greek salad with pita bread, or protein bowl.
I even like to enjoy it as a thick spread on avocado and egg toasts for breakfast and brunch!
