Mango Smoothie with Green Tea
Mango Green Tea Smoothie Recipe – This delicious and refreshing smoothie combines mangoes and green tea to give you a nice boost of energy in the morning! It makes a great breakfast or mid-afternoon snack when you need a little pick-me-up.

Why We Love This Mango Green Tea Smoothie Recipe
I have hang-ups… I’ll admit it. They say all artists do. *wink* For instance, I only drink hot caffeine in the afternoon, to get me through the 3 pm slump. I don’t like sweet breakfast foods in the morning; I’d rather have them as dessert. (Like waffles!) And I won’t drink a smoothie, no matter how good it tastes, unless it also comes in a pretty color.
So today’s mango smoothie with green tea is my new favorite, because it’s sweet, but not too sweet, comes in a pretty color, and the caffeine is in fact cold. It might be the perfect breakfast.
This creamy mango smoothie combines tangy mangoes with the earthy quality of green tea. And since we’re getting a good dose of green tea first thing in the morning, you’ll have plenty of energy to take on the day!

Ingredients You Need
- Ripe fresh mango – or frozen mango
- Water – boiling
- Green tea bags – steep in hot water
- Ice
- Frozen Banana – half of one
- Honey – optional for added sweetness
If you like your smoothies extra thick, keeping all the ingredients chilled is the key.

How to Make The Best Mango Smoothie
- Add the tea bags to the hot water, then place them in the freezer to cool while you are preparing the rest of the smoothie.
Pro Tip: Keep a pitcher of green tea to keep in the fridge for smoothie making. Then it’s ready to go when you need it!
- Peel the mangoes, remove the pit, and place the flesh in the blender. Add the ice, one half of a frozen banana, and 1 tablespoon of honey if you like.
- Then remove the tea from the freezer and discard the tea bags. Pour the tea into the blender, cover, and puree until smooth. Serve immediately.
It’s as easy as that. Just prep, combine, and blend.
You can add in some ice cubes to make it thicker for a smoothie bowl experience.

Tips and Tricks
- Sometimes I cut mangoes and place them in the freezer if they are on the verge of going bad. Ripe frozen mango is a good substitute for fresh.
- You can also add protein powder to your mango smoothie if you like. Or powdered greens…but then the color wouldn’t be pretty.
Optional Add-Ins
This simple smoothie is delicious as-is, but you can also try adding other ingredients like these ones:
- Orange juice or pineapple juice
- Coconut milk, almond milk, or cashew milk
- Raw cashews or almonds
- Frozen peaches or berries

Wow this sounds fab, I’d love to try it. I had no idea you could freeze bananas! Do you just peal and pop in the freezer? I try to drink green tea, but am not a fan of the Tate, but understand its health benefits, with the strong delicious flavour of mango, this should work a treat. Thanks. A xxx
Hi Angela! Yes, When they start to brown, I just peel them, break them in half, and put them in a freezer bag. Then I put them in the freezer for smoothies and healthy desserts.

Hi Tracy,
You can add a little more mango, or thick yogurt in place of the banana. It’s just a thickening agent.
