Serving Suggestions

This Mac and Cheese Pizza has layers of chewy and crisp dough, tomato sauce, cheesy macaroni, and loads of toppings… So it’s basically a meal in each slice!

I like to balance the yummy heaviness of this comfort food with a fresh salad. A Caesar salad or simple green salad are both easy to whip up while the ‘za cools.

You can also serve it up with your favorite dipping sauces like ranch, marinara, or buffalo wing sauce on the side for extra flavor.

Shredded mozzarella is, of course, the classic cheese for pizza. Cheddar cheese adds even more flavor and compliments the mac and cheese. They’re wonderfully melty and delicious together!

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F. Move one rack to the lowest position. Set out a large baking sheet.
  • Place a large pot of salted water over high heat and bring to a boil. Prepare the boxed macaroni according to the package instructions, including the necessary butter and milk. Once prepared, taste, then salt and pepper as needed. Turn off the heat and set aside.
  • Meanwhile, roll the refrigerated pizza dough out on the baking sheet. Spread a very thin layer of pizza sauce over the surface of the crust, leaving a 1-inch rim around all edges.
  • Once the mac and cheese is ready, evenly spoon it over the pizza sauce, gently spreading into an even layer.
  • Sprinkle sharp cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the top of the macaroni. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning. If using, sprinkle mini pepperonis (or cooked bacon) over the top of the pizza.
  • Bake the pizza on the lowest rack for 15 to 20 minutes, until the crust is golden around the edges and the cheese is molten. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped scallions. Cut and served warm.
