Making blender juice is one of my favorite things, especially when I’m on a health kick! I hate keeping unnecessary appliances around the house and decided to give away my juicer a while ago. If you have a great blender, like this KitchenAid model, and a sieve, there’s just no need for a juicer.
This summer I’ve been making all sorts of blender juices using our home-grown produce. Right now, I have tons of fresh basil growing in my container garden as well as ripe beets. Tada…enter my fabulous and delicious Basil Beet Juice recipe!

Frequently Asked Questions
This juice is a great source of minerals and nutrients, it can help lower blood pressure by increasing blood flow, boosts exercise stamina/endurance (like athletes), helps maintain a healthy weight, and can be helpful for people with heart disease or heart failure.
Beet root also has an antioxidant called betaine which can potentially help rid the liver of toxins and fatty deposits. With all these benefits and a great taste and flavor, how could you not love it?
Because it’s juice, and not baked goods, the proportions can fluctuate a bit. I generally buy a 1-pound bunches of beets that usually has 3 beets per bunch. As for apples, go for average-sized apples.
I usually just throw it in the compost pile with all my other vegetable and fruit scraps.
Nope! The skin actually is loaded with nutrients. Just wash all the veggies before juicing them!
