White Negroni Recipe
How to Make a White Negroni – Here is a classic gin cocktail recipe that’s light and refreshing, with a bright lemon twist! It’s also easy to tweak and make as a traditional Negroni or Sbagliato.

Why We Love this Negroni Recipe
We adore a classic Negroni that consists of good quality gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth. A equally delicious cocktail recipe, but slightly different, a White Negroni is a variation of the classic Negroni cocktail with a light refreshing twist.
In both recipes, the ingredients are stirred in a shaker, not shaken, and then poured over an ice block in a lowball glass, or an old fashioned glass. You can add a twist of lemon or a classic lemon rind swash, which is just a larger rougher piece of lemon rind.
However, a White Negroni is a blend of good quality gin, dry vermouth, and Cocchi Americano, a Quinine-flavored apéritif wine. This combination is lightly floral and fun, yet elegant and sophisticated. It’s a great addition to your repertoire for those that love to imbibe in style!

Tips and Tricks
- Use a high-quality gin – Use The Botanist or try Tanqueray No. Ten or Monkey 47 for a bolder profile.
- Use a dry vermouth – Opt for Dolin Dry vermouth or Noilly Prat for a richer taste.
- Choose an apertif wine based on your flavor profile – Cocchi Americano adds more bitterness, while Lillet Blanc is softer and sweeter. Choose whichever your tastebuds prefer!
- Stir, don’t shake – Stir the cocktail for about 20 seconds to chill the drink while keeping it smooth and clear. Shaking can over-dilute and aerate it.
- Perfect the garnish – Express the lemon peel over the drink before dropping it in to release oils. Warm the peel slightly with a flame for extra aroma.

I love the cocktail. I just don’t think of it as a Negroni riff with these ratios. The Negroni is a 3 equal parts drink, so it seems this should be as well.
To me, this is maybe more of a Martini riff; a 2:1 Martini with the Cocchi Americano taking the place of the oft-added orange bitters.
This white negroni cocktail is so refreshing! Love the bright lemon twist!
