Rosé Sangria Recipe – This easy sangria recipe combines French rosé, pink grapefruit juice, and bourbon, with a touch of Chambord raspberry liqueur for added sweetness. Fresh watermelon, strawberries, and raspberries bring a burst of vibrant flavor, making this the perfect refreshing drink for any occasion.

Why We Love This Rose Sangria Recipe
What makes this Rosé Sangria so irresistible is its perfect balance of flavors. The French rosé provides a crisp, light base that pairs beautifully with the bright notes of pink grapefruit juice. The bourbon adds a subtle warmth, while the Chambord raspberry liqueur brings in a touch of sweetness that enhances the fruitiness of the watermelon, strawberries, and raspberries. Every sip feels like a refreshing burst of flavor, making it a drink that’s both sophisticated and fun.
I also love how versatile this sangria is. Whether you’re serving it at a summer BBQ, a holiday gathering, or just relaxing with friends, it’s always a crowd-pleaser. The vibrant colors and fresh fruits make it visually appealing, while the flavors create an experience that’s both refreshing and satisfying. Plus, it’s easy to prepare in advance, allowing you to enjoy the party without fussing over drinks. This Rosé Sangria is one you’ll want to keep in your recipe rotation!

Ingredients You Need
- French rosé wine – a crisp wine with a light citrus-floral quality
- Pink grapefruit juice – for its pink color and delicate acidity
- Bourbon – this adds some sweetness but also depth, with notes of caramel and vanilla (P.S. Bourbon and grapefruit juice are meant to be)
- Honey – this adds some sweetness and balances out the twang
- Chambord – for a bright berry flavor
- Watermelon balls, strawberries, and raspberries – fruity pink things are used as a garnish in the mix to absorb all that boozy goodness

How To Make Rose Sangria
- Use a melon baller to scoop watermelon balls out of a large slice of fresh watermelon. Slice the strawberries.
- Pour the rosé wine, grapefruit juice, bourbon, honey and Chambord in a large pitcher. Stir until the honey dissolves into the mixture. (If your honey is especially thick, warm it first to thin it out before adding.)

- Then add the watermelon balls and strawberries. Cover, then refrigerate sangria.

- After at least two hours, stir and taste for sweetness. If you like your sangria on the sweeter side, stir in a little more honey. If the sangria is too strong, plan to pour it over ice. When ready to serve, stir in the fresh raspberries and pour into glasses.

Recipe Variations
- Tropical – Swap the pink grapefruit juice for pineapple juice and add chunks of tropical fruit like mango, pineapple, and kiwi. For a fun twist, add a splash of coconut rum for an island-inspired flavor.
- Citrus – Add a mix of citrus fruits like oranges, lemons, and limes to give the sangria a zesty, refreshing kick. You can even use fresh citrus juice to enhance the tangy finish.
- Spiced – For a warmer, spiced version, add a cinnamon stick or two and a few cloves to the sangria. The spices complement the sweetness of the fruit and enhance the overall depth of flavor, perfect for cooler evenings.
- Berry Bliss – Instead of using watermelon, double down on the fresh berries. Add blueberries, blackberries, or even cherries to intensify the fruity sweetness and create a berry-packed sangria experience.
- Peach – Replace the strawberries with fresh peaches or even peach nectar for a smooth, juicy variation. A little bit of peach schnapps can elevate the peach flavor even further.

Frequently Asked Questions
This is a wonderful recipe to make ahead of time. That’s because it requires the fruit to soak in the liquid for at least two hours. The longer it soaks the boozier the fruit gets. So you can soak them for a couple more hours or even overnight!
In fact, Sangria can last in the fridge for up to three days. Be careful though because the fruit could start to go bad. So remember to make sure to use fresh fruit!
If you have a larger group, you can serve sangria in a punch bowl. For smaller gatherings, a traditional sangria pitcher is the way to go. If you don’t have one, I rounded up the best sangria pitchers, including a classic blue-rimmed pitcher like the one I own. It’s available on Amazon for around $40.
If grapefruit juice isn’t your thing, orange juice would be the next best option.
What you’re looking for here is the acidity that grapefruit brings to the mix of liquids. You might not get that perfect pink color but it’s still going to taste great!

I’m so excited to try this! I just had a question – I tend to prefer drier sangria – do you think this recipe would still be delicious without the honey or does it add a necessary flavour to bring everything together? I don’t want to leave out an essential ingredient!
Hi Erika,
I would say just make it without the honey and see how it tastes to you. Then if you feel like you need a little extra sweetness you can stir it in.:)
Perfect I’ve got fresh honey from my own hives to use on this.
Hey Sommer, I just got back from Spain so I’ve tasted my fair share of sangria. While this is quite different from what I’ve tried, it tastes incredible. Awesome recipe!
I love sangria – especially in the summer time! I can’t wait to try your simple recipe. My standby has like a million ingredients and so much alcohol you’re staggering around after one glass. And since I would like to enjoy more than one glass…this recipe seems much more appealing!
Made this for an 4th of July gathering yesterday, and it was a big hit. Doubled the recipe and it was all gone by the end of the night.
