Set out four hotdogs. Score the tops of the hot dogs just barely cutting through the skin. Make sure not to cut too deep or they will break in half in the air fryer.
Place the hotdogs in the air fryer basket. Set the air fryer at 400°F and set the timer on 5-6 minutes. (You can set the shake button, to shake the hotdogs in the middle of the cooking time, but it’s not really necessary.)
Once the timer goes off, place each hot dog in a hotdog bun. Set the buns back in the air fryer basket and set the timer for 1-2 minutes to toast the buns. Serve the hotdogs HOT, with your favorite condiments.

Notes
This recipe works fantastic for jumbo hotdogs, brats, Italian sausages, and Polish sausages. When cooking sausages larger than a standard hot dog, set the timer for 7-9 minutes.Cool the cooked dogs at room temperature. Then transfer to an airtight container and keep in the fridge for up to 3 days.
