For clove syrup: In a saucepan combine 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of water, and 8 whole cloves. Place pot over medium heat and cook until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool. Once the syrup has cooled completely, remove the cloves.
Combine all ingredients in a heatproof mug. Add hot water to fill up the glass, and stir.
