Instructions
20 ounces of chocolate will make two large breakable chocolate heart halves. You can give them away separately covering a gift or fuse them together to make one larger puffy heart.
For each mold, place 10 ounces of chocolate melting wafers in a microwave safe bowl. Remove one handful of chocolate wafers to add later. This helps to retain the glossy exterior of the chocolate. (AKA cheaters tempering)
Microwave the chocolate wafers in one-minute increments, stirring well between each minute. (This will take approximately 2 to 3 minutes.) Once the chocolate is mostly melted, add in the last handful of chocolate wafers. Stir vigorously to melt those wafers into the chocolate without placing back in the microwave.
Tap the microwave safe bowl gently on the countertop to remove as many large bubbles as possible. Then pour the chocolate into the heart mold. Swirl around the mold making sure the chocolate reaches up to the edge on all sides. Then pour the excess chocolate back into the bowl. Place the heart mold in the refrigerator and chill for at least five minutes.
If needed, reheat the remaining chocolate in the bowl for about 30 seconds. Then pour the chocolate back into the heart mold and swirl around creating a second coat of chocolate. Poor the excess chocolate out of the heart again. Place the mold back in the refrigerator to harden for 5 minutes.
Once the chocolate heart is very firm, gently pull the mold away from each side of the heart. Once the edges are loose, carefully flip the heart over and gently peel off the mold.
Repeat this process with the remaining 10 ounces of chocolate.
Once both heart halves are made, you can use any excess chocolate for decorating. Just be careful when touching the chocolate heart. Couverture chocolate has a lovely glassy finish. When you touch it, you dull the glossy sheen and leave fingerprints. Wearing rubber/plastic gloves helps with this.

Then attach them with melted chocolate.If making one large solid heart with both halves, decorate just the top. Then fill the bottom with gifts, pipe a chocolate line around the edges and gently lay the top over the bottom to seal.Give your heart away in a pretty box with a small hammer, so your loved one will know what to do.
