Refreshing Strawberry Chocolate Mint Smoothies – Mix things up with this fun twist on your morning smoothie.
We are a smoothie kind of family.
Most mornings we choose to forgo a lengthy and often heavy breakfast, for a little extra sleep and a quick healthy smoothie, we can take as we run out the door.
Simple chocolate smoothies made with almond milk and protein powder are our to-go for hurried mornings. However, one does get tired of the same thing every day. Even chocolate, God forbid.
Today’s Strawberry Chocolate Mint Smoothies are a fun and tasty way to mix things up, when time is of the essence. The combination of strawberries, fresh mint, and dark chocolate is both refreshing and unique.
You still get a little pop of chocolate, yet overall, the flavor focuses on the brightness of the summer produce.
We always use Silk Unsweetened Almond Milk as the base of our smoothies, because of its mild nutty flavor and creamy appeal. However, it’s also low in sugar, fat, and carbs. Win-win!
The goodness and simple taste of Silk Unsweetened Almond Milk, brings the entire smoothie recipe together, no matter what you add to your smoothies.
In this Strawberry Chocolate Mint Smoothies recipe, using frozen strawberries instead of ice thickens the smoothies, giving them a dense silky texture.
Fresh mint leaves and dark chocolate chips offer an unexpected pop of flavor that complements the strawberries, while not overpowering them.
You can still add your favorite protein powder, if you like. Or leave it out and keep your morning smoothie low-calorie.
Your breakfast smoothie doesn’t have to be boring.
