Kitchen Makeover Day 5: Decorative Tile
One of the most exciting processes of renovating our kitchen was visiting Salon Blue Ridge to select decorative tile for our backsplash. Salon Blue Ridge is a fabulous Kitchen & Bath Showroom located in Flat Rock, North Carolina just a few minutes drive from Asheville.
This is not your typical home improvement center. Salon Blue Ridge is a feast for the eyes.
Upon opening the door, you are invited to walk through room after room of inspiring design concepts. I could have spent an entire day just taking it all in.
Salon Blue Ridge has the most accommodating and knowledgable staff eager to put you at ease through the renovation or building process.
I had the opportunity to meet with Audrey Wilkinson the owner/operator of Salon Blue Ridge. This award-winning showroom is a sister company to her family’s business Wilkinson Supply Company located in Raleigh, Durham, Carrboro and Wilson, North Carolina.
Audrey led us to the stone and tile room, a space filled with the most amazing tiles I’ve ever seen.
Knowing I wanted my kitchen to have a relaxed feel with natural beachy tones, Audrey helped us select a stunning tile made by Stone & Pewter Accents.
I couldn’t decide whether I liked little square tiles or the subway tiles best.
Fortunately Stone & Pewter Accents had a style in their Sumi-e collection that included both!
Not only that, some of the tiles have a natural glossy finish and some are a flat “silk” finish to create extra textural appeal. We selected the Sei-ta pattern in the Sendai color scheme.
It is dazzling!
Every time someone walks into our new kitchen they gasp and say, “Look at that tile!”
I think that means we did good… Thanks Audrey.
The extra help from Salon Blue Ridge really made our kitchen come together. Next time I need to remodel a room, I think I’ll start there!
