Chicken Detox Soup
Chicken Detox Soup is a fast, tasty meal filled with vitamins and nutrients. This cleansing soup is great to make when you need a do-over in your eating plan.

Why We Love This Chicken Detox Soup Recipe
Looking for a great Detox Soup Recipe? Especially after the holidays, I like to take some time to eat healthy and include some nourishing, detoxing soups like this Chicken Detox Soup!
From my personal experience, cleanses usually involve expensive herbal supplement kits from the health food store, or a whole lot of juicing.
However, this cleanse is different. It’s a Chicken Detox Soup Cleanse made from a nourishing homemade soup with fresh chicken, loads of veggies, and ginger, to boost your metabolism and immune system, as well as remove toxins to help your body work as it should. Eat this soup for a few days and you will be feeling good as new! It is gluten-free, dairy-free, and paleo to boot!
With protein, vegetables, vitamins, and minerals, it provides more nutrients than most of the world’s population receives on any given day. So don’t be afraid to give it a try!

Ingredients You Need
- Chicken Breast – chicken breast is best since it is high in protein and low in fat. You can use chicken thighs, but this will add fat to the chicken soup.
- Chicken Broth – or chicken stock
- Vegetables – onion, broccoli, carrots, celery and peas
- Fresh Parsley – for a fresh, herby flavor
- Fresh Ginger – adds flavor and antioxidants
- Garlic – to make the soup aromatic
- Olive Oil – to sauté the veggies, you can also use avocado oil if preferred!
- Apple Cider Vinegar – adds a slight tangy flavor
- Crushed Red Pepper – for just a hint of spice
- Turmeric – great for cleanses
- Salt & Pepper – to taste
Pro Tip: If you see any vegetable in there that you don’t like, switch it out for something you do like. Other great options are spinach, kale, or additional fresh herbs! For ease, you can use shredded rotisserie chicken instead!

How to Make Detox Soup
Set a large sauce pot over medium heat. Add the olive oil, chopped onions, celery, ginger, and garlic. Sauté for 5-6 minutes to soften. Then add the raw chicken breasts, broth, carrots, apple cider vinegar, crushed red pepper, turmeric, and 1 teaspoon sea salt.
Bring to a boil, lower the heat, and simmer for 20+ minutes, until the chicken breasts are cooked through. Then remove the chicken with tongs and set them on a cutting board to cool.
Add broccoli, peas, and parsley to the pot. Continue to simmer to soften the broccoli. Meanwhile, shred the chicken breast with two forks, and stir it back into the soup. Once the broccoli is tender, taste, then salt and pepper as needed. Serve warm!
Pro Tip: If you like a little extra tangy flavor, serve your chicken detox soup with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.

This is one of my favorite chicken soup recipes!!
This is amazing!!! I almost always have a pot of it now in my fridge!! Makes a great dinner and left overs for lunch…. it is one of the most yummy soups that makes you feel good about eating!!! 5+ stars!!!
I eat this soup every day and yes it’s good. Even tho I’m eating it all the time, what else can I have with it?
This soup is absolutely delicious and I am not a soup person. I’ve made it six times since November. I love it! I’m wondering if you can make a vegetarian version that will taste just as good?
Can you blend this or will it change how it works
Hi Dd,
Blending the soup will not change the health properties. If you give it a try, please report back. I’d love to hear how it turns out! :)
When the calories say 91kcal……. does it mean 91,000 calories??????
No… lol
Scientifically 1kcal=1,000 cal, but in nutrition the terms kcal (kilocalorie) and cal (calorie) are used interchangeably. So 91kcal is just 91cal when it comes to food
A healthy diet may contain fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, and includes little to no processed food and sweetened beverages. The requirements for a healthy diet can be met from a variety of plant-based and animal-based foods…
really delicious
i added some seasoning as i had no turmeric
and a dash of soy sauce
and kale
really good!!!
Great recipe! It’s a refreshing soup and great to take for lunches! I threw everything in my crockpot and cooked for four hours. Worked well!
Excellent recipe. Only tweak was omitting broccoli and peas and adding zucchini instead. Will definitely make it again!
This sounds like what the doctor ordered! It is cold and raw today, and I’ve been feeling bloated and sluggish. The only thing is I went to the store and got every ingredient, but driving home I realized I had forgotten the chicken. I’m going to add chickpeas for protein and I think that will be good. Thanks for the recipe! BTW I’m going to cook it in a crockpot.
Hearty and so delicious! It is also very forgiving, using whatever veggies we have on-hand. This soup is one of our go-to recipes that I make over and over again. Lately I’ve used organic bone broth for even more nourishment.
Can you use chicken thighs boneless
Hi J,
Absolutely! :)
