How To Broil Salmon in the Oven

First, turn the oven on to broil and set the top rack so that it’s about 6 inches from the top of the oven.

Prepare the salmon by cutting into 6 large or 8 small equal portions. Place onto a rimmed baking sheet, and gently pat the tops of each filet with a towel to remove any moisture.

Use a pastry brush to lightly coat each filet with oil, and sprinkle generously with salt and pepper.

Broil the salmon for 5 to 8 minutes, until lightly golden around the edges of each filet. It’s definitely better to slightly undercook than overcook the fish!
