The Best Balsamic Vinaigrette Recipe – A simple salad dressing with fabulous flavor. Rich, zesty, and tangy-sweet! Only 6 ingredients needed.


  • 1/4 cup aged balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2-3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Salt and pepper


  1. Pour the balsamic vinegar, olive oil, 2 tablespoons honey, dijon mustard, dried thyme, and garlic clove in a jar. Season with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper.
  2. Place the lid on the jar and shake vigorously to combine. Once smooth, taste. Then add more honey or salt if needed.

    Can you sub regular yellow mustard for dijon? That’s all I have in and don’t want to buy some for the small amount I would use for this. Sounds delicious!

    I absolutely love this dressing!  It’s thick, flavorful and just so much better than the vinaigrette from the store.  My husband and friends love it too.  And I love that there are no weird and unnecessary ingredients.  This is definitely in the weekly rotation, thank you!
