Afternoon Tea Cocktail

I’ve got a dark and moody weekend cocktail for you today, the Afternoon Tea Cocktail. Bold and complex with a dusky tea undertone. This is a fabulous drink for sipping at winter cocktail parties.

AFTERNOON TEA COCKTAIL

This drink would be nice after dinner sipper.

The amaro is a good digestif and the tea provides nice tannins. If you can’t find Cynar, another darker amaro would still work nicely.

Afternoon Tea Cocktail -This drink would be nice after dinner sipper. The amaro is a good digestif and the tea provides nice tannins.

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz bourbon (a smoother wheated bourbon would work nice here)
  • .75 oz Earl Grey Infused Sweet Vermouth (see recipe below)
  • .5 oz Cynar Amaro

Directions:

  1. To make Infused Vermouth: Heat 2 cups of Sweet Vermouth over low heat. Right before it starts to boil, remove from heat and steep 2 Earl Grey tea bags in hot liquid for about 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and let cool.
  2. To make the Afternoon Tea Cocktail: Stir all ingredients together with ice and strain into a chilled glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.
