Why We Love This Pumpkin Milkshake Recipe

October brings a whirlwind of crisp cool air, leaves, Halloween, and of course, pumpkin! I know I am not the only one who is obsessed with all things pumpkin spice this time of year, right?

To make the easiest fall-inspired treat, you can make a simple Pumpkin Shake! It is basically like a slice of pumpkin pie without the pie crust, and therefore, without all the work.

Not only am I pumpkin spice crazy, but I am also milkshake crazy. Milkshakes are so easy to make and such a delicious treat! They are perfect any time of year, too. In the summer, I love my Peach Milkshake recipe and my Strawberry Shortcake Milkshake recipe!

But when it comes to fall, a pumpkin shake is the way to go. This Pumpkin Pie Milkshake recipe was a treat I served to our Halloween party guests several years back and it’s bit a seasonal favorite in my house ever since.

Ingredients For Pumpkin Milkshakes

This Pumpkin Spice Shake recipe uses simple ingredients to create the best fall-inspired treat there is. If you have extra pumpkin puree from a previous recipe, that is perfect to use here! The gingersnaps add a little extra flavor and thicken this shake-up. After you blend it up, don’t forget to top it off with some whipped cream!

  • Pumpkin Puree – make sure to use canned pumpkin that is 100% pumpkin and not pumpkin pie filling!
  • Brown Sugar – for a caramel flavored sweetness
  • Pumpkin Pie Spice – to make it taste like real pumpkin pie!
  • Vanilla Ice Cream – don’t be shy with the scoops of ice cream!
  • Gingersnap Cookies – break them up into small pieces so they blend more easily
  • Milk – to add some creaminess

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I make a healthy pumpkin shake?

To make a healthy pumpkin shake, simply replace the ice cream with plain yogurt and the cookies with a banana! You can skip the brown sugar, but I recommend adding a little bit for that hint of sweetness. However, we have a FABULOUS Pumpkin Protein Shake Recipe as well!

Can I make a vegan pumpkin pie milkshake?

Absolutely! Make a vegan pumpkin pie milkshake by using non-dairy milk, plant-based vanilla ice cream, and vegan gingersnap cookies!

Can I make a pumpkin pie spice blend at home?

Definitely. If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice on hand, you can combine 1 teaspoon each of nutmeg, cloves, ginger, and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon! Mix it well and use 1 tablespoon of the mixture in this milkshake and keep the rest for other pumpkin recipes!
