Last Minute Memorial Day Recipes

Let me guess… You planned to use Memorial Day wisely. No exciting plans to hit the beach, just a long practical to-do list and a determined spirit.

Yet now that Memorial Day is here, you’d give anything to avoid cleaning that hall closet and weeding the flower beds. An impromptu Memorial Day party sounds mighty good right now.

Yes, I have thrown my share of impromptu parties to avoid chores. Probably more than my share.

The key to these spur-of-the-moment gatherings is to prepare dishes that have big appeal and little prep-work.

I made you a list of my favorites.

Main Dishes:

Moroccan Lamb Chops with Tahini Mint Pesto

Firecracker Pork Chops with Pineapple Kiwi Salsa

Andouille Blue Cheese Sliders

Shrimp Tacos with Grilled Corn Grapes and Creamy Ranchero Sauce

Pollo Rojo

Grilled Mustard Maple Chicken

BBQ Carnita Tacos

Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Dijon

Salsa Verde Burger With Watermelon and Basil

Roasted Fish Bruschetta

Snacks and Sides:

Roasted Cauliflower and Creamy Tahini Dressing

Pasta with Peas Smoked Almonds and Dill

Tabouli with Feat and Endive

Brie and Pear Tart

Chile Lime Mangoes and Papayas

Grilled Corn with Smoky Lime Mayo

Fresh Peach and Basil Salad

Hawaiian Ahi Poke

Perky Pimento Cheese

Creamy Roasted Red Pepper Spread

Blueberry Ricotta Pizza

Sweets and Beverages:

Blackberry Vanilla Bread Pudding

Chocolate Malt Brownie Parfaits in a Jar

Banana Pudding Milkshakes

Strawberry Pistachio Crumble

Blackberry Bourbon Shortcakes with Whiskey Cream

Grapefruit Basil Sorbet

Layered Mousse Cake

Mexican Chile Pops

Raspberry Basil Mojitos

Nimbu Pani

French Lavender Lemonade

Pineapple Sugarcane Water

Now have fun!

…And try not to make too big of a mess.

You’ll only end up adding “clean up party” to your to-do list tomorrow.

Great lineup! I love all the grilled recipes and I have yet to try your banana pudding milkshake, but I feel like banana pudding and food off the bbq are meant to be together. Always. Yummy post!
