Tassimo T20 Review and GIVEAWAY!

I was recently given the opportunity to review a Tassimo T20 Single-Serve Coffee Brewer, made by Bosch. As I was planning to buy my husband just such a contraption for Christmas, I jumped at the chance to try it!

Our new coffee maker came this week and we’ve been “testing” it thoroughly over the last few days.

Here are my findings:

This particular model is built with “space-saving” in mind. It is very compact–not much larger than my toaster! Yet, it still holds enough water to make about 7- 8 oz. cups of coffee.

It is very fast, less than 60 seconds for a fresh cup.

This brewer is also very easy to use. Pop the T-disc in, and push one button! Although I always recommend reading instruction manuals on new items, anyone could easily walk up to this coffee brewer and figure out how to start it in moments.

The noise level is relatively low. The Tassimo is no louder than any other machine I’ve tried. It wouldn’t wake a sleeping baby in the next room.

The price is affordable for a single-cup brewer. The T20 model is around $130.

Coffee affordability…hubby and I discussed the price of the T-discs, and came to the conclusion that although each serving costs more than a cup of coffee from a traditional machine, it works out for us in the long run. You see, neither one of us drink a lot of coffee. Generally what happens is we make a POT, and drink 1-2 cups total. That means 6-7 cups of WASTE! We think we might actually save money–at the very least it will be a wash! You can buy the T-discs in bulk and save quite a bit, making the coffee approximately 60 cents a cup.

Variety. Tassimo T-discs come in over 40 flavors of teas and coffees including selections from Starbucks, Seattle’s Best, and Tazo.

In the last few days, the only down-side we have found pertains to the size. We LOVE this compact brewer as it sits on our counter, but since we entertain a lot, we could end up filling the water reservoir over and over in the course of a night. For those who entertain, or for an office, I would suggest buying a BIGGER Tassimo model.

Overall, we love it!!!

The kind people at Tassimo have offered a second T20 Brewer as a GIVEAWAY to one of my readers!

I’d like to select a winner prior to Christmas, so the winner will be announced on December 22nd!

To enter:

Please leave a comment describing your favorite HOT beverage!

For EXTRA chances to win~ FOLLOW by Twitter, Facebook, or RSS. You could also Tweet about this post, or link it to your Facebook page! …Then leave a separate comment for each.

The winner will be selected by random drawing at 9 pm EST on December 22nd and announced that same night. At that time, the winner will need to offer shipping information (No PO Boxes, continental US only) and color preference.

This is the perfect small single-cup brewer in my opinion. (And I’m not saying that because I have to!) *smile*

Sounds like a really neat coffee maker! I've heard and seen so much about the Keurig, nice to hear about a more compact machine! I love Bosch! My husband has a Starbucks addiction and I would love to be able to make his specialty Coffee @ home! Would love to have one of these machines!

I LOVE hot apple cider, especially from William Sonoma, but it only comes concentrated in large bottle and a lot ends up going to waste :(

This compact model would be perfect in my studio apartment.

    The Food Hound — December 20, 2010 @ 1:02 pm

Here is why I want to win this giveaway: the Booze Hound drinks coffee like no other person I've ever met, BUT he keeps the coffee pot in awful condition. His coffee tastes like sludge, I am told. This does not affect me on a daily basis, but I am embarrassed to give this coffee to guests! If I win this, I will keep it hidden for guests so they can have a nice, sludge-free cup of coffee :) My personal favorite hot beverage is nice, thick hot chocolate. I have a new recipe I can't wait to try out!

My absolute favorite hot drink is a Pumpkin Spice Latte!

I am really glad to see this review. I'm on the fence about getting a coffee maker or sticking with my french press. Honestly a single cup automatic would be ideal & save me time since I am never awake enough to take the time to make coffee with the french press. Also living alone this one seems ideal.

Any way to use your own favorite brand with this model or do you need to only use their brand of discs?

Wow – a lot of people want this. I have been toying with the idea for a few weeks. We do go through (with two college kids at home) a pot a day. However, it can also make tea and hot chocolate and that's a bonus.

I have tried this disk version of coffee and they really do taste good but the coffee maker itself comes with a heavy price tag. This one is really compact.

    My favorite hot beverage? Tea!

I used to have one of the keurig one-cup makers and loved it, but it died on me. I do agree, if you don't drink a lot of coffee, this sort of thing is the way to go! Lucky you for being able to review it!
Coffee is hands down my favourite hot beverage. I don't know how I'd survive motherhood without it.

Several years ago, our children gave us a Christmas present we loved immediately — an electric coffee grinder. The first one has since retired, and we are using a second one we purchased. Since that time, my very favorite hot beverage is a cup of coffee, made from beans my husband ground in our very own coffee grinder, prepared with care by my husband just for me, and handed to me with his smile and sweet words of love!
